THE MOST DANGEROUS REALITY is a short story inspired by Richard Connell's classic tale THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME. It originally appeared in anthology THE GAME from Seven Realms Publishing (which is still available should you want to read all of the stories including this one).
A newly minted M.D. confronted with massive student loan debts decides to put himself to the ultimate challenge volunteer to be hunted for sport by a wealthy outdoorsman on a remote tropical island. If he is still alive after three days, his financial problems will be solved.
What the doctor doesn't know is that the "sportsman" contracting him for the hunt is an actor as part of a reality TV show.
"I was enthralled reading how Mr. Chesler turned the hunted into the hunter."
~ reader review from THE GAME anthology where The Most Dangerous Reality first appeared.
PRAISE FOR RICK CHESLER'S TARA SHORES THRILLER SERIES
"[WIRED KINGDOM] A whale of a tale by first-time author Rick Chesler involving modern-day pirates, media moguls, and a sexy federal agent--all chasing a cetacean-mounted camcorder and the crucial piece of evidence needed to resolve a murder."
-- Steve Alten, NY Times bestselling author of GRIM REAPER and MEG
"WIRED KINGDOM is a fast-paced thriller that is one third
deep-sea adventure, one third FBI sleuthing and one third awesome. A
superb debut novel and killer concept."
-- Jeremy Robinson, author of PULSE and INSTINCT.
"This is a summer page turner. It won't challenge your belief system and
it doesn't stray too far from the whodunnit genre. But if you're
looking for an entertaining read from someone new, I highly recommend
Wired Kingdom...Remember when Michael Crichton was good? This is who I'm reminded of when I read Wired Kingdom."

"[kiDNApped] Great scientific concepts that are based in reality, especially the
secret messages encoded in DNA...Vivid setting in Hawaiian islands with
lots of local color and local detail. Good pacing will keep you reading
to the end. FBI agent Tara Shores is one cool, competent chick."
~ScienceThrillers.com
"Rick Chesler's biotech thriller kiDNApped is a pulse-pounder of the highest order!"
~Weekly EBook Reader
"The lush Hawaiian setting is conveyed in a way that immerses the reader
in the story. There's a strong scientific element to the plot, but is
handled in a way that keeps the book accessible. kiDNApped is an
exciting techno/science thriller in the spirit of Michael Crichton."
~MEGALITH reviews
"[kiDNApped] Chesler really had me with all the clever science
experiments, fast-paced chase scenes, gun action and original twists
and turns. I need a crow bar to pry myself away."

The story of a human hunting another human as prey is an old theme. I first encountered it in an old movie called Naked Prey, but subsequent to that have seen older movies with the same theme. Because of Hunger Games, it is once again in vogue. That being said, Chesler sets up the story in a well thought out manner with the protagonist having a precise plan. But will it work? I did not know how it would end and found the writing compelling enough to continue to see how the hunted would fair. More than anything, no matter the type of story, no matter the genre, I like good writing, and Chesler delivered.Product details

The Most Dangerous Reality edition by Rick Chesler Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I have been a long-time fan of the classic, 'The Most Dangerous Game' and have enjoyed Rick Chesler's two Tara Shores thrillers, so it was an obvious step to also read the short story, 'The Most Dangerous Reality.' This story, once again, proves to me that Rick does his research. I finished it in one day because, in spite of the fact that I know the original story and because of that, ultimately, know the ending, I was enthralled reading how Mr. Chesler turned the hunted into the hunter. It is obvious by the turn of events that the author is familiar with the Fiji islands, the modes of transportation to get there and, yes, even the types of weapons mentioned. I definitely recommend this quick read for a short break from your own reality. Good job, Mr. Chesler!
After reading Chesler's WIRED KINGDOM, and having my eye on KIDNAPPED and his upcoming SOLAR ISLAND ever since, I decided to jump into his short story, anxious to see what the most dangerous reality was. And boy was I in for a treat! I'm still in awe of Chesler's ability to craft a complete story in so few words. It was the perfect short story with just enough detail to pull the reader into the characters and their precarious situations. To say that I enjoyed this would be an understatement. Has the idea been done before? More or less. But it's the ending and the cunning of the main character that elevates it above most. If you want a pulse-pounding adventure that has you cringing with anticipation for a night, stop here and get lost in THE MOST DANGEROUS REALITY.
Not badly written, just...been there already. Not very original in my opinion. Like a modern remake of an OK movie, it lacks zest, newness, audacity...and left me flat.
this was a very good book, so good that i think i will read it again. so far i love everything i have read that Rick has written. he is a very inventive and original writer. i highly recommend this book and this author.
As a bookworm I enjoy trying out books from authors still unknown to me and I usually start with their first published work. I've read and enjoyed the Hunger Games series and other similar stories as well as movies with similar plots. I knew from the first few chapters what the plot was about but what surprised me was how it ended. Let's just say that without giving it away, it brought me to a "Twilight Zone" moment and that is a compliment. This is a well written book and wish the author continued success. I've downloaded his other two books and look forward to more exciting adventures.
I normally don't enjoy books or films about hunting, especially hunting of humans. However, because of the length of the story, I decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did. The author writes clearly, concisely, and without moral evangelizing. The reader is permitted to make her own judgments about the action and choices of the characters. It's a quick read that provides entertainment and an opportunity to reflect on current issues and human motivation.
This story caught me from the very beginning. Hook, line, and sinker. Sure it's a tale that's been old many times, but this one was well done. Man, I'd hate to try and live with my conscious after doing what was done in this story. Yep, I'd recommend this story and author
